About Us

Georgia Interpreting Services Network (GISN) is a private, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit service of the Georgia Association of Training, Employment and Supports that provides state-wide sign language interpreting services.  Since 1987, we have aimed to provide clear, complete, and precise communications between deaf and hearing participants.

Our services allow for equal access for persons who are deaf or hearing-impaired, as defined under Georgia and Federal law.  We provide qualified, nationally certified, and professional interpreters throughout the state of Georgia.

At GISN, customer service is our focus.  We understand the need for quick, uncomplicated communication, accurate transactions, and personalized account management.  This focus drives our courteous assignment coordinators when obtaining assignment information, assessing needs, and scheduling appropriate interpreters.  Our interpreters are generally available 24 hours a day, seven days a week (including holidays) to meet the needs of our customers and their deaf/hearing-impaired clients.

About Our Interpreters

GISN contracts with nationally certified, independently contracted sign language interpreters.  Each of our interpreters is nationally certified by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).  As certified members of RID, our interpreters are bound by a Code of Professional Conduct, which ensures that all information gained during the course of interpreting is kept strictly confidential.  Additionally, interpreters are required to remain impartial during the interpreting process.
